Rainbow

Rainbow

Last summer, I went to our house in La Union to have my vacation. Two days before I went back home, I (together with brother) went to the cemetery to visit daddy. It has been my little tradition to visit daddy's grave whenever I was there - just spending a few minutes to talk to him and catch up on things. It has just been over a year since he died, and although I am more than 50% okay with it, something deep inside me still grieves about his sudden death.

The cemetery was an open field, very few trees in the main grounds, so when the clouds started giving us some raindrops and lightning with thunder, brother and I started thinking if we will stay or not -- certainly, lightning loves striking in an open area, and we don't want to be hit by it. Our candles weren't melted all over (it was our personal tradition that whenever we visit daddy's grave, we would light a candle and talk to him until the candles are completely melted), so we stayed a few more minutes.

Across to where we were, we saw this wonderful rainbow (the third one I saw while I was there). It wasn't really clear, but of course, whether it's clear or not, rainbows really did give us this magical feeling. I had some shots picturing the whole rainbow, but the left part wasn't really clear, so I will just share this one.

The raindrops didn't continue. I was happy about that. Thanks for dropping by, happy weekends!

  25. What a lovely spot to lay your father to rest. I'm sorry for your loss and glad that you were gifted with time to visit the grave and with this beautiful rainbow. Maybe your father sent it to let you know he loves you too.
