Euphorbia

This week, it's Macro time over Ruby Tuesday! Another one taken from Lung Center of the Philippines weekend market, but this one's from their lot and is not for sale. I just happen to pass by it, and thought of Ruby Tuesday, so I snapped this. I am not sure if this is macro enough, I cannot go nearer because I am using a point and shoot camera, and sometimes when the lens is very near the subject, it's having a hard time focusing and the whole image would end up blurred.

    The blossoms sure are a vibrant red. Wonderful sight this time of year in the Great White North (Canada).

    You might find that you can get tighter if you use the "Portrait" setting. I'm not familiar with the A580 at all, but it may even have a "macro" (or at least pseudo macro) setting available too.

    But this shot doesn't suffer at all for the distance. The flowers themselves are fascinating... they almost look like they've been made from pacilage or marzipan or something.

    I think it's terrific! Macros of flowers are my favorite type of macro shot.

    All we seem to see these is the white of snow. Not lots of it, but on multiple occasions lately. that is why this tropical red flower looks especially inviting and an invite to spring, which seems too far away...Nice!
