On my last day in La Union, I told myself I will take pictures of anything that fancies me, but I wasn't able to fully enjoy that because my brother asked me to come with him to the city where he will attend a meeting. It ate my time, yes, but it was still a fulfilling day as I was able to take pictures of St. William the Hermit Cathedral. Anyway, as we were walking along the plaza to the bus stop, I noticed one of the benches in the plaza and asked brother to stop for a while as I took a picture.
It was so interesting seeing the other ants trying to carry this one big ant! I am not a fan of ants at all, but I could say they look so pretty in this picture! Taken using Canon Powershot A580 digital camera, set to foliage, macro, no flash.
Happy weekends!

That's a truly great shot, Jenn.
What a unique shot! And I'm not real fussed with ants either, but this is a piece of art!
Amazing photo. Sort of wonderful and horrible at the same time. The red ones don't look like they are friends to the big guy. Astonishing photo, though. The light and composition are wonderful... Way cool.
Wow,... that's what you call teamwork, right? lol. Great clear macro shot. Have a wonderful weekend.
Great shot. I love the lighting on this too.
Wow! Excellent capture and composition. Thanks for sharing.
WOW! That's truly amazing shot! and yeah..teamwork! :D hehe Thanks for passing by!
There is such drama in this fantastic shot! Wonderful!
well captured!
This a fantastic macro shot. I am glad you shared.
am not actually a fan of the ants, too (though they do help us a lot when it comes to cleaning the planet! lol), but i love taking their picture!
awesome macro!
What a very unusual picture. It has value as a record of an event I can't begin to explain but it is a superb shot. Those shadows make it art.
Fantastic shot, I don't like them either!!!!!
Thanks for visiting.
I deleted my previous comment for I made a mistake. Here is what I wanted to say: It is very interesting. I wish I could take such shots, but either my camera isn't good enough or the photographer isn't! I think the latter. BTW are the red ants attacking the black ant?
I'm not a fan of the ant, but this is a great shot! How did you get them to pose like that?
Fascinating picture, even though it makes my flesh creep!
That is a fantasatic image! Ceratinly very different. Well done.
Great shot! I was trying to get ant pictures this week, ironically, but I couldn't get the little buggers to stand still long enough! LOL
That's certainly a first in camera critters!!
Awesome capture - truly fascinating to see them at work.
An excellent shot! I like it a lot!
You have clever eyes! This is an EXCELLENT shot! Bravo!
Great shot! I wouldn't have thought ants would photograph so well!
I have to say, that's creepy, yet beautiful. lol It's rare I use those two words together. Amazing macro shot though. Good work!
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi at my place. :o)
Like you, in the previous post, they were also to the market. ;)
This is a truly spectacular photo! The color and detail you captured in this is amazing!
What a different shot that is. :)
very interesting photo!
This is a great photo! Really well-defined features! I like that you gave us your settings - I have a Canon digital as well. I'm going to have to experiment more - somehow I get stuck on Auto a lot. Have a great week, and thanks for stopping by earlier. :)
Jenn: what a great job to thinl of posting this on CC day. It is so interesting.
Ants are amazing critters, and your photo captures them magnificently. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting mine at Small Reflections.
Hugs and blessings,
Cool shot, although ants kind of gross me out. Have to admire the strength and tenacity though.
The ants are nice, but the picture is wonderful. The clarity and shadows are fabulous.
That is a fantastic shot! Well done.
Congrats on POTD at David (McMahon)'s - I came over from his blog.
Gee, is it an antbulance do you think Jenn? Are they taking him to the anthospital? Great shot, as David says...but a bit gruesome for all that, lol!
Sandi
