Summer's Ultimate Comfort Food

Summer is about to end anytime soon -- for me it ends when the school officially starts, so there's still a few more days left -- so I will post this one before the season runs out on me. =)

Chowking Halo-Halo

If there's one food that's associated with summer, it's got to be this: the Halo-Halo. So many variations of this food, I guess it's really up to the seller (or the customer) however he/she wants her halo-halo. For me, I really don't care what kind of ingredients are in the mix, as long as it's fresh and delicious, I'd go for it.

This halo-halo was served by Chowking. Before, I didn't like their halo-halo, but this particular year, it's my favorite. I guess they've reinvented the way they serve the food, and I love that although there are aren't much ingredients, it's still delicious. Their ice, I think did it -- very finely shaved, it just melts in your mouth! Hmmmm.... I think they've also pureed the bananas, which I think is a good idea.

My sister calls this the upside down halo-halo, for normally the fruits are at the bottom of the dish or the glass and is topped with shaved ice and other few toppings. I told her, it's a strategy to let the customers see that there are a lot ingredients. =)

Has anyone of you had even just one share of this food? Me, I think I had about 20 all throughout this summer. Bummer though, I wasn't able to taste that famous Razon's halo-halo! Oh well, there will always be another summer.
