Her Own Place

I just talked about my sister's dream of entering a culinary school. Of course that is just one of her dreams, the other being owning her own place, just like those Florida Apartments she is seeing on TV.

It was actually inspired by us watching US based television shows, and she has always admired the houses she is seeing. If she could have it her way, she is hoping to get one in Orlando, so she can go to Disneyworld, too. Yes, among us siblings, my sister is the one who is very keen of going overseas and live an independent life. If she could make her way in the United States, she really likes to live either in New York or in Florida. New York because she is such a city girl, Florida because she also loves the laid back life. Well, Florida is known as as the Sunshine State, and she really loves the positivity brought about by sunshine.

Being her older sister, of course I support her dreams. Personally, I would like her to stay here, but if she wants to spread her wings, then I am here to back her up. Well, checking the different Florida Apartments makes me wanna wish I can own something like that, too, as all look amazing!

Just a piece of advice I am giving her: if she is really keen of having her own place and be independent, she just have to make sure the neighborhood is at a good location - near to the church, hospital, shopping center, and other commercial spaces. Of course we all want to live in a very safe, clean, and beautiful neighborhood, but it would also help if some places are easy to access, too. Now, if it comes with a good view from the window, all the better.

My sister really is growing up now. She is very different from the baby I used to carry.

A Good Gift for the Newlyweds

In this month alone, a friend of mine will not only celebrate Christmas, he would also celebrate his first Christmas with his wife, as he would be getting married next week. Obviously, getting married also meant having to live in a new house, and because they are a young couple, part of the problem is to get as much things as possible to make their new house a home.

I asked him if he had some of the essentials, and he did tell me they already have a bed and some cookware, and when I asked if they already have some seats, he told me they have some chairs, and that's about it. I really hope they could have loveseat sleeper sofa so they can have a two-in-one fixture. Actually, when I went to live with my best friend so we can share the rent at a studio style apartment, this is something we hope we could have - in the morning it could be a sofa, and come night time we can turn it into a bed. Now, if it is some sort of a microfiber couch all the better.

Whenever a couple gets married, I do hope family and friends would think of a gift that would really help the newlywed with their new way of living. Usually, I would see couples receive the small appliances, and if it is my turn to get married, I sure hope to receive either a gas range or a reclining sofa, because these are two of the few items that would really benefit the couple as they start a new life together.

To you my friend, my best wishes. Whatever gift you receive, I am sure you will appreciate it much.

Have Your Own Site

I have been blogging for half a decade now, and although the first year of it was something experimental, I began to get a little serious in blogging in 2007, when I wanted to have a place for my scrapbook layouts. From there my life as a blogger moved on, and in 2008, I had my very first blogsite that's completely mine. With the help of a friend of mine, she helped me set up my own travel blog.

Having your own site doesn't just mean typing the words and putting pictures - it also meant knowing the basics of what you were doing. Having my own blog made me learn about codes and how to reach out to people, just so they would come and read what I have written. Of course, it is not just about blogging, many people have their own sites to suit their own preferences, and that's the beauty of it, actually. If you have your own site, you can transform it to whatever you want it to.

If you're planning to have your own site, it's best that you get the top host for it. Things to take into consideration are:

  • Value for Money - of course hosting doesn't come for free.
  • Reliability and Uptime - do know that you may have to update your site every now and then, and you need to have your site up whenever you needed to. This also means that people from all over the world might check your site, and if you're running a business, you don't want them to see an error message, right?
  • Customer Service and Technical Support - Every now and then, sites will be having glitches, or because of your curiosity about trying new things, you will encounter some mistakes and when this happen, you need to have a good host with customer and technical support ready to help you.
  • Features - Taking how much hosting would cost you, of course you have to make sure it got some good features.
  • Storage Space and Bandwidth - I personally didn't have problems with this as I host the images into a different site, but if you don't have any ways of hosting your pictures and videos elsewhere, you need to check just how big is the storage that comes with the hosting package.
  • Ease of Use - Not all people wanting to have sites have the knowledge of the technical know hows. Just like me, I don't know much about creating a site from the ground up, so your host has to be user friendly.

Technical as it may seem, having your own website is certainly a rewarding thing. Not only do you get to share different things about yourself, it's also a way to learn new things. I always say that no man is born knowing things he knows now, and things we do in life is a learning experience. If you want to have your own site, go ahead and do it. At first it would feel as if walking on a dim lighted path, but as you go on, you will realized at how far you just "traveled."

A good site starts with a good host. Read, research, then decide.

A Time to Heal

In every part of the world, drug addiction is a big and serious problem. Each country is making their efforts to resolve this problem, but we all know that solution to this problem starts from within. If the patient didn't want to make the first step towards recovery, chances are, the patient will continue to do what he was doing.

One of the many institutions to provide help is this Drug Rehab in Illinois. As I have said, the road to recovery starts from within, but I would also say that one cannot really do it alone. People with addiction problems need help, admit it or not. I never became addicted to alcohol or drugs, but I do understand what addicted people go through because I was once addicted to caffeine - coffee to be precise. I was 9 years old that time and it was my first time to taste it. I might be addicted to a different thing, but digging deep into it, it's quite the same, for I came to a point that I was craving coffee time after time, and that I needed to keep a whole jar of it in my closet so no one would know I was drinking coffee whenever I stay inside my room. If not for my cousin, I don't think I will be "healed." I still drink coffee up to this day, but I can already control it to one cup per day.

It would be very easy to say "I will change, I can do this." Maybe you can, with help - help from your family, your friends, and people who knew how to heal to you. Addiction is a kind of sickness, and there are doctors who can help you towards change. If you're from Chicago and is looking for an Illinois Drug Rehabilitation, there are just a handful of help you can get. From step one until you reached full recovery, there are people who will be happy to help.

I hope in time the problem in drug and alcohol addiction will be over, as these addictions not only destroy the person, it also destroys the lives of the people around. Why not get high on natural things? If you're feeling low and you feel no one loves you, love yourself more. Discover new talents, and once you do, do your best to hone it. Photography is one of the good things to get addicted to, I think... not only will get to discover a lot of things, you will also get personal satisfaction.

As the very famous line goes, "The journey to a thousand miles begins with a single step." The journey towards recovery may seem to far fetch, but you don't have to get overwhelmed with it, just take the first step - Illinois Drug Rehab - and they will guide you with the rest. All you have to do is enjoy the ride.

Play With Photos

Quite some time ago, I saw some friends putting very interesting pictures in their profiles and I really wanted to know how they just did that. I thought they did it from scratch, but I realized that there are fun, cool sites where you can create fun photos of just about anything, but of course, it would be best if you use your pictures yourself. I gave it a try, and here's the outcome:

Very nice, isn't it? Do you want to create funny pictures yourself, as well? Just click on each picture and you will be directed to the fun, cool site I am talking about. Personally, I loved the billboard kind of effects - it's like having your picture seen by so many people around the place. I also liked the gallery effect - with my picture on set on different colors. But of course, the site has so many effects including the fun photo box to suit your fancy.

Create fun pictures to put in your own profiles, or create some for your family and / or friends... it's just so easy - just choose the effect you want, upload the picture, and copy the codes below the picture. Paste the codes in your profile or blogs, and that's it! Easy!

Who says you need to be very techie to create fun pictures? Best of all, they have new photo effect everyday, so everyday, you can put effects on your pictures. See, I told you it was nice. Come to think of it, it is beyond nice... it is actually great!

Go ahead and create wonderful effects on your pictures, too!

Lessons Learned

In one year, I have learned so much about photography without even enrolling in a photography class. Don't get me wrong - enrolling in classes is one of the best ways to learn, but for a point and shoot camera user like me, often times, my best ways to learn are from experience, first hand information from friends, and reading articles online.

One of the latest articles I came across with was the Photography Positioning of the Subject on Your Photo from web-articles.info website. I have taken quite a lot of pictures, and possibly have heard about some of the things in the article, but still, I consider the article a very helpful one for people who are into photography - whether that person is just starting out or already a professional one. From a newbie's point of view, the article gave insightful details about how to take photographs. I really liked the idea of comparing the vertical and horizontal positioning of the camera when taking photographs. I admit, when I started out, I always take pictures with the camera in a horizontal position, but later on I realized that while horizontal pictures look good once placed in the photo album, sometimes, taking pictures in vertical manner also produces powerful outcome.

The tip that I liked the most in the said article was about "There is no right or wrong way in taking photographs." With so many rules about how to do this and that, sometimes the photographer just have to set aside rules and just take pictures. Photography is a subjective matter - in the end, what matters is your own opinion about your photograph. If you liked the outcome, then it is good.

I find web-articles.info site a good one. They have lots of good articles about quite a lot of topics, and aside from the photography articles, I also liked their new article about Needing a Home, But Don't Think You Can Afford One, because I can relate to it as well. If you want to read good articles about different topics, just go to the website and read. Knowledge is power, they say, and even with the age of technology, we should never forget to enrich our minds.

It's a Fashion Statement, Too!

I have been wearing eyeglasses for 18 years now. Before, I would hate it when people would classify me as a nerd, or someone who has four eyes, and what I hated the most was that I can only wear one kind of eyeglasses for more than a year, since eyeglasses are quite expensive and going for multiple eyeglasses would mean more money spent. On my part, I would always just have to wait until my eyeglasses broke before I could have it replaced.

On my last visit to the optical clinic, I asked the doctor if there are now more people wearing eyeglasses. She said yes, but some of the patients she has were only into getting eyeglasses to make a fashion statement. Hmmm, never have I thought about doing that, since I know eyeglasses could be very expensive, especially if the frame itself is very classy and stylish.

Take a look at these three eyeglasses. Can you guess how much it would cost you should you get all three? Believe it or not, these are just a few of the $ 8 Rx eyeglasses from Zenni Optical. Very pretty, eh? As a woman, I really do want to have eyeglasses that affordable, I can mix and match it with the clothes I wear. Nowadays, people with eyeglasses should certainly know How You Can Start Spending Smart. Times are rough, but it doesn't mean we don't have the right to be fashionable.

Taking a look at these eyeglasses, Zenni Optical is certainly now My favorite high fashion eyeglasses!

Back to School Treat

Back to school days may give most of us a pain in the wallet, especially the parents. For parents with kids wearing eyeglasses, sometimes, it gives more pain when the kids' eyeglasses get lost or breaks because of the kids' hyper nature. When I was much younger, I recall my mom getting angry at me because I would accidentally drop my eyeglasses and it would mean another trip to the optical shop.

Had only there's the $ 8 Rx eyeglasses back when I was younger, for sure my mom would choose it for me. Well, not only do their eyeglasses right on the pocket, I like their designs, too! For girls, I am sure they'd love the yummy colors and decorations on their eyeglasses. Actually, not only can you see Zenni Optical on the Internet, you can also check out Zenni Optical on TV!!!

This back to school season, it's another High Five to Zenni Optical!

Austin Realtors

In the forum that I am always visiting, there was this thread about "Showing Your House." The thread starter is just starting to build his house and he was very excited how the house will look like.

Unlike this person, some of us prefer to buy a house and move in, rather than building it from the ground it. Looking for a house that will serve as our home requires good decision making. We have to be sure that the house very much worth its price. And during these times when people are having financial problems, every decision has to be right.

If you're from Austin, and you're looking for a house, you must talk to good Austin Realtor to help you find that good home. Actually, they're not really good in helping you buy your house; if you're planning to sell your Austin home, they could help you, too!

Certain decisions in life don't necessarily mean you have to decide on your own. Sometimes, we need a little help for us to maximize all options.

The Foreign Blogger

In all honestly, I am not a person to ask about when it comes to money or anything that concern about that. When I was in college, I had a hard time understanding about statistics and stocks, that I just smile whenever someone would ask me about it.

In my blogging life, because I live in Asia, whenever I blog about something I bought, or whenever I traveled to get pictures, I always have to convert peso into USD so the foreign readers could understand what I am writing more. I always have to check the forex charts to check if there's a change in order for my entries to be more accurate. It was actually a good thing that I have to do this because I am also learning in the process. I guess I really need to learn more about currency trading. Or, maybe I should just use any kind of Forex Trading Software to help me with it. What do you think?

I guess being where I am right now is a good thing in the sense that not only do I get to showcase the beauty of my own country through the photographs I put, I am also able to make other people understand things related to money, so when they decide to come to my own country, they will have an idea just how much is how much. In a world where money revolves about the US Dollar, at least I am still able to let people from other countries understand how things are from where I come from.

It's a Fashion Statement, Too!

When I started wearing eyeglasses over a decade ago, I was often teased by classmates. Back then, wearing eyeglasses seemed to be only for the studious, nerdy people, that's why some opted to take out their eyeglasses and just wear it when needed. Times have now changed, and eyeglasses nowadays weren't only used to see things clearly, people have now worn it as a fashion statement.

I am already used in wearing my eyeglasses to the point that I feel I look awful without it, so when I go for a trip to the optical shop, I always choose something stylish so it would also enhance my looks. Sadly, I am always having a hard time finding one, as there weren't much choices, and if there is, it's very expensive.

I have heard about Zenni Optical and when I checked their site, they still have Prescription eyeglasses for only $8! Sounds hard to believe, but it's true. I always tell myself that if only I live in the USA, I would have purchased one of their frames because not only were their frames cheap, it's very stylish as well. And what's this? Zenni Optical in the New York Times?! Wow! Well, it's not really surprising at all, because in times like these, we really have to go for something affordable, but with quality of course. Truly, Zenni Optical really helps people in Seeing Straight Without Breaking Bank.

Missing a Friend

I am not that great of a photographer, and if there's one thing I want to learn, it's how to take portrait shots. I have been dreaming of owning a DSLR and should I get one, I really told myself that I would use it to the best I can. Next to my sister, the one person I would want to take portraits of is my dear friend Ahdz - especially that she's now becoming a mother. I wanted to take pictures of her pregnancy and how she would glow all throughout the nine months. Then I would turn the pictures into scrapbooks! It's been so long since we last get together so when she told me she's preggy, I was so happy for her! I miss her so much now.

However, my dear friend is certainly having a roller coaster ride of emotions. This early on her pregnancy, she has been experiencing problems after problems. I admire her courage and her stability (emotionally speaking). But, I still think she needs some help - someone professional like the Counseling Oakland services - because although her family and friends are there for her, she still needs someone outside of her environment to talk to. It doesn't necessarily mean she's losing it or something... sometimes, people need other people to talk to so they can spill it out without having to worry about it.

The next time we talk, I will open it to her so she knows that she will always have an option.

Four-Eyed Jenn

Yesterday, I was so shocked when I picked my clothes from the bathroom sink and heard a loud sound. I saw that it was my eyeglasses and for a while I was so scared that it might be broken because I am using glass lens. Good thing my eyeglasses were still in good shape because had it got broken, my trip with my friend K might get affected for I am practically blind without my eyeglasses.

But then again, should it get broken, I know I should not fret because there are Variable Dimension Frames From Zenni that I can certainly count on. I have been reading and hearing so many things Zenni Optical and knowing that Zenni Optical was on FOX news! was something that made me more interested in them. Why not? Zenni on FOX meant that something ought to be good. And checking their site, I am really impressed at their great frames (the one in the picture is something I would like to have in the future)!

So, if you're someone who is looking for Great Eyeglasses For Less, why not check out Zenni Optical? I think you'll like it, too!

Alternatives

Last week, I was in my dad's hometown and I met up with my cousin, who's currently working as a salesperson in a pharmacy. She has a nursing degree, but failed the board exams, so right now, she cannot practice what she was trained to do. She was hoping she could enter a review center to help her prepare for the next board exams, so right now, she was trying to earn enough money to sustain that.

If I was her, I would consider being a medical assistant. With her knowledge in the medicine and health care, I am sure she would make a good medical assistant. Over at St. Augustine Educational Services, they offer online study programs, so my cousin would surely work and study at the same time. I checked their medical assistant program details and they have so many programs to choose from. These programs are certainly a big help for people who wanted to become medical assistants - or people who are helping doctors in any given field. Of course, even if you say it's just office work, still, it would be nice if you have some knowledge about the things you're doing. Correct?

If I will be able to talk to my cousin, I will tell her about this medical assistant school so she can have many alternatives to her chosen career path. If she's still waiting for the next board exams, then at least she can still make use of her knowledge, as well.

The Power of Branding

They say life is a big market place. As individuals, we try to be the best we can so we can get ahead on the picking line. In high school, we try to label each other being "the jock," "the crybaby," "the homecoming queen," and the list of brands go on and on and on. Even singers and other celebrities go with labels and branding. Here in the Philippines, even the contestants of singing shows have labels of their own! There's "the singing voice of an angel," or "the rock and roll chick." And if you've got the best label, you're more likely to be the one who's always on the viewer's heads. How innovative!

Well, if people brands people, then all the more it is important for products and services to be labeled and branded. Of course, as consumers, we have to make sure that we get the interest of the public so our products will be sold. No matter how cheesy or how funny the branding is, as long as you were able to get the interest of the buying public, you'll surely get ahead! At first it's all about the branding, and if people was satisfied with the products, then you'll gain loyal customers, which in turn will help you get the word.

But of course, it all starts with the good branding. If you're an entrepreneur and you have a product you want to get across, you might want to check this Branding Company. They specializes in all things about branding, and just go check it out if you want to know more about them. If you feel that you're not hitting it off in the market, you now have a place to run to.

I, too, would like to have a business of my own in the future, and whether it's about photography or scrapbooking, for sure I will be needing some help in promoting my business. When it comes to that, I might seek their help, too! Well, let's face it, the toughest part of any business is to get the message across, and I am sure you will now agree to the power of good branding. Check the site if you feel you need some help in proper and powerful branding, you might get some knowledge from it.

Pearly Whites

I used to have this online friend who's so vain when it comes to her teeth. Whenever we chat, she would always ask me if I wanted to see her teeth, and would really show her teeth as often as she can. Well, it's a very different approach to things, but she is she, and she was just being proud of her pearly whites, I guess.

Well, having nice set of teeth is one of the great ways a person to get great portraiture shots. Well, my teeth aren't that great, I admit, which is why I think I need a place as good as the Los Angeles Dentist clinic because when I checked their website, I was simply blown away with how extensive their services and the capabilities of their dentists have! Reading their qualifications and watching their videos made me feel that I can basically just sleep on the dentist chair and let them do their job! =)

If I can pay for it, I surely would want to have braces because my lower teeth have gaps, but I am happy that people tell me I have a very great smile. If I can just find someone as good as Dr. Azar-Mehr, then wow, it would be great! What's so nice is that new patients can save as much as $50. Hmmm.... if only I live in Los Angeles! =)

We really have to pay close attention to our teeth, because having a good set of teeth is our source of confidence. Actually, seeing the Los Angeles Dentist website made me want to visit my dentist whom I haven't visited for a long time now. I will be on a holiday next month, and I really need to have pearly white teeth so I will look good in pictures!

For the Future

I remember, when the Olympics came to Atlanta, I have hoped to come to the place as well. At that time, I still head over heels in love with the Russian swimmer Aleksandr Popov and I really hope to watch him swim or at least take pictures of him. Other reasons to go to Atlanta would be checking out that big soda factory. =)

With the current economic crisis in the USA, I am sure lots of people are becoming more aware of how important work is. Because I am from the Philippines, I personally still hasn't felt the tension, but we all know that if the USA would have economic problems, every country in the world would be affected with it, too.

I now wonder how is my former online buddy John is doing now. He doesn't live in Atlanta, but he lives near Atlanta. We have lost communication, but whenever I hear the place Atlanta, I cannot help but to think of him. Is he affected by the crisis? I sure hope not, because it would be really tough for anyone to lose work and have that bad feeling of not having to "function."

If you're from Atlanta and you're looking for a job, you might want want to check out these Marketing Jobs in Atlanta. If you feel you have what it takes, just browse through the list of the available jobs. Who knows, it might be the thing you're looking for. The scope is very much wide, so just check it out, maybe there's a job waiting for you. Some of the jobs listed includes managers, representatives, and so much more (all related to marketing of course). There's 248 pages of jobs waiting to be filled in, so if you have the time, do check it out, okay?

Nowadays when times are rough, we all really need to think of our future. May it be for ourselves, or for our family, we certainly have to do all we can to ensure of brighter days ahead.

Negativities

Certainly in most businesses, there comes a point when people question the credibility and stability of the company. I have raved about the Nouveau Riche University in some of my posts here in the blog, but not everyone is raving about it the way I do. Of course there are people who says there might be a Nouveau Riche Scam, but really, all people are entitled to his or her own opinion.

The key there is, for people to be vigilant. Most especially in things dealing with finances, people have to be sure where they put their hard earn cash. Whether there's a Nouveau Riche Scam or none, people who would want to invest in Nouveau Riche have to learn how to search and research. With so many ways of getting information, people don't have any reason not to be ignorant about a life changing process they wish to take. If you ask me, whenever someone was"victimized" by someone or something, they are partly to be blamed about it because they didn't do their research.

If you're interested in Nouveau Riche and would like to know details about it or investigate on the so-called Nouveau Riche Scam, just click on the links. It wouldn't hurt each and everyone of us if we would try to learn things we want to learn about. At least we won't have any regrets about it, right? But as I have checked on it, I think this university is good. Well, they wouldn't be published in a magazine if they're not good, right?

Nouveau Riche University

I have talked a little about Nouveau Riche University in my last post, and I still can't help but to keep on raving about it. Anyway, for people interested about it, I could say (based on what I have read about them), that it's a university that teaches students all the things they need to know about Real Estate. They teach about concepts, strategies, advantages and disadvantages of different things revolving real estate. Pretty interesting, isn't it? Well, I am not gearing towards having a career in Real Estate, but I don't know why I am raving about this university. Probably because it's something new and a very promising thing at that.

Nouveau Riche University was not only published in the magazine, it was also considered as one of the world's most promising companies! Amazing really! I think this one would open many changes in the educational system, giving students many more choices in the paths they would like to take. Of course, the conventional schooling in the universities and colleges would still be there, but people who wanted to pursue a career in Real Estate need not take other courses first, they can directly learn the ins and outs of Real Estate through this university. Maybe in time other professions would also open up their own specialty universities as well.

For those interested at what this university is all about, you check out the links in this post, or click here to learn more about the new President of Nouveau Riche University. To everyone in this university, keep up the good work. Keep on leading the students for them to achieve their goals in life. Who knows, if Real Estate is my "calling," I might actually enroll in your university.

To be Featured

Aside from photography, one of the things that interest me would scrapbooking. It was just a sad thing that I haven't done any scrapbook layouts for the longest time, but as soon as I get myself a desk, I promise to be back at it. Anyway, whether as a scrapbooker and / or a photographer, I dream of being published. Why not? Being published is one great morale booster and is a great way to send the message across.

I am sure this is how the people from Nouveau Riche University feel when they were recently published in a magazine. Being a university that helps students to learn more about real estate and entrepreneurship, it was certainly a great thing that a magazine recognized their efforts. Putting myself in their shoes, I would definitely feel so happy about it as well. For those who want to read some excerpts from the magazine, you can check it out in the Nouveau Riche University blog, as read for yourself how awesome this University is for doing what they are doing.

I salute everyone especially the CEO of Nouveau Riche University, Jim Piccolo for helping people reach their dream and become not just great real estate entrepreneurs but great individuals as well. I think, when a person is well learned and has a great future ahead, he or she is becoming a great individual as well for helping their families get a better life, too.

As for me, I think I still have a lot to learn both in scrapbooking and in photography before I can be published. But as they say, all hardships bear sweet fruits. I am taking my baby steps; I know I can get there in my own sweet time.
