Orange-y's Playtime

Playtime

Sweet Shot Day

I have two sets of AA Batteries left for my camera, and it was quite unfortunate that I wasn't able to charge the other set while using another, so both of the sets were not available for quite sometime this week. Most people were sharing pictures from Holy Week, and I feel a little left out because I didn't go out to do Visita Iglesia (church hop - a tradition among Catholics here in the Philippines), and I also wasn't able to attend church services because all celebrations were done at the parish church and not here in the sub-parish. I did attend the Easter Sunday mass and we had our own time for reflections and contemplation, so I wasn't as guilty as I should be. :)

Anyway, my favorite shot from last week was this - a picture of my cat Orange-y I took last Sunday. This cat of mine was a bit aloof and didn't want to mingle with the other cats (he's also the one that always love to be indoors and could stay inside the room whole day if we allow him to), so after eating his lunch, he just went to lie on the desk in our terrace and played with this little plush toy. It just looked so cute - a male cat playing with a plush toy, so I quickly grabbed my cell phone to capture it. I set my cell phone's camera to macro, and it took a while for it to focus and capture the shot, and when I looked at the image, I was quite amazed seeing Orange-y sticking out his tongue like that.

I am happy Orange-y is feeling much better now... last week he was having a cold and a flu (well, he was so hot whenever I would carry him and he would just sleep all day and would walk a bit sluggish), and although he still wheezes from time to time, seeing him with so much life makes me a happy mama.

It's Not Really About You, Danda!

Kitty Danda

I didn't realize there is more to this picture hadn't I browsed all my cat's files to look for a snapshot of kitty Danda to look for a suitable picture I could use as a tribute to her (Kitty Danda died a week after she got colds). When I took this shot, I was really focusing on her, but really, the picture did speak more about the background than the subject.

If you'll look at the left part of the picture, you'll see the oddness of this photo: Kitty Lilith jumping. And if you look to the right, you'll see the reason for the jump: Kitty Pogi (he's too dark it's hard for him to see). The kittens were still okay when this shot was taken, all of them were still giddy giddy, but they all caught cold, and sadly Danda died. Anyway, this picture suddenly became so important to me because of the kittens' antics caught on cam. It was so unexpected and funny at the same time.

Goodbye Danda!

weekend snapshots

Danda & Jenn

Just a sad day for me because we just found out that one of our kittens just died. We were already expecting it because she hasn't been eating for a week now and she refused to drink milk from her mom as well. I was just sad because she really was a beautiful kitten and I was hoping to see her grow. Oh well, I guess that's life. I will just miss her company -- she along with her other siblings are my constant sleep mates.

This picture was taken last month. She's so pretty, right?

Z for Zzzzz...

I couldn't think of any "Z" pictures, so I will just have to be a bit "creative" about it. I have missed two weeks of ABC Wednesday, so I said to myself I really have to have an entry for this week before round 3 starts next week.

Typically in cartoon strips, whenever a character is sleeping, we would be seeing that "Zzzz...." thing. For this week, I just went out to look for a "sleeping" picture and post it as my entry for letter "Z."

Danda Sleeping

This is our kitten, Danda (a slang for the Filipino word "Ganda," meaning "beauty"). Ever since the kittens started coming out of their corner, we already let them stay in the living room. I have a carpet/blanket rolled out in the floor, and it became their sleeping mat as well. I especially loved taking pictures of this kitten because she really looks beautiful -- and she's sweet, too!

Right now, things aren't good for her. She's having colds, and because of it one of her eyes got irritated and is swelling. She eats very few and is having a hard time breathing. There isn't a veterinarian near our place, so even if I want to, I can't take her to the doctor. I am just hoping she will be able to handle it well. Her mom and her Uncle Paborito are constantly looking out on her, and I also see to it that I wipe her eyes with warm clean cloth to take out the dried tears.
