5MinFri - If You Met Me...

Last week, I had no connection, so I wasn't able to join. I am happy that this week, Internet has been nice. This week, the prompt is "If You Met Me." Ready?

The very first thing you'd notice about me would be my size. However, despite my extra large frame, I seem to be fading in the background because I am fairly quiet, especially during gatherings. Well, at first I could be really timid - I am not really the type who voice out a whole lot of opinions and points of view, but as you get to know more of me, I think I have a little sense of humor and that I am a little crazy at times.

If you met me, you might consider me a walking contradiction because I love organizing my things alphabetically and I arrange my files according to their dates, yet even if I have this OC-ness, I am a pretty messy person literally. I just hate cleaning, so at times my room turns into a storage area.

If you met me, you'd see how I cherish my very few relationships. I don't have that much friends, but I do hold on to those few people. If you met me, you'd see how I love and respect my family. If you met me, you'd see how sweet of a person I am, and If you met me, you'd see how much I strive everyday to see the goodness in all things.

Stop.

Really? That's all I was able to write in 5 minutes? Awwww....

Anyway, time may not be enough, but if you check back here once in a while, you will surely get to know more of me though my pictures and words. Isn't it great to be a life artist? I just love celebrating life!

Christmas Ball

Last Sunday, I went to my co-SFC sister's house because we will practice for our presentation. This coming Saturday is our chapter's Christmas Party, and we have to practice really well if we want to win the prize. =)

We were waiting for the others when I saw Dorris' (our hostess) Christmas Tree. I was interested when I saw my reflection on the ball, so I took my camera to take a shot of it. I am having a hard time focusing because the sun was directly in front of the tree, but I guess this one's okay.

Me.. Just Me.

Yesterday, I played with the camera and just shoot and shoot pictures of myself. The thing of it is, I really cannot make faces and poses other than smile in the camera. So, coming home from the church, I just relaxed a little and just shutter away. Most pictures were deleted, but a few ones, including this (obviously) was spared. I just converted a colored picture into gray scale. Not a good portrait, but I think it's fine. I guess from time to time I need to post pictures of myself, too.

If it's not much to ask, please pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Rianne, the younger sister of my friend Dee-Jay. She has been in a coma since Thursday due to a major asthma attack, and she died just as this day arrived. I still haven't talked to Dee-Jay yet (I just read his message through Friendster), but please, if you have some time, please say a little prayer for Rianne. May you rest in peace, manang Rianne. She was 29 years old.

B = Bags from Bicol

For this week's ABC Wednesday, I will show two different pictures with one common link: bag!

This bag was given to me by my mom last April when we attended Cousin Nharlyn's wedding. She noticed that the bag I had was so small and wouldn't fit any so she gave me this. She bought this one from our neighbor for only 300 pesos (approx. 9 USD) and is made from abaca fiber.

This bag is a present to me on my 28th birthday. Given by Charmy (the same neighbor who sold the bag to mom in the first picture), she said that she knew I love pink and lavender so she gave me this. It matched my birthday outfit, and I loved it! =) Charmy's boyfriend Jay hails from Bicol Province, so whenever he has the chance to come to his hometown or his mother would travel, they would take some Bicol products to sell.

This one is a self-portrait to show off the presents I received that day. =)

Sunburned!

For the past three weeks that I joined Ruby Tuesday, I have always posted pictures of flowers. I didn't have that much red pictures except for the flowers, but this week, I will share you two pictures from my vacation in Pangasinan with mom and other relatives.

This is me after a whole day dip in the beach -- trying to float, learning to let go of my fear of drowning, and finally learned how to snorkel. I think the only time I left the beach was during lunch time, and later in the afternoon when we all went to check out the caves near the beach house where we stayed. Thanks to Uncle Pete for taking this picture -- he got so tired seeing me taking self portraits, he offered his help in taking my picture. Hahahaha!

In my other blog - Memories by Jenn, I posted an entry where I asked which of the two tops I need to take, and in the end, I took the red one. Now, this picture could qualify for the Ruby Tuesday meme because of my top, but I like to share another picture:

A self-portrait of my oh-so-burned face! Actually, it came to this because when I finally learned how to float and finally allowed water to enter my ears as I float in the beach, I really, really loved looking at the sky, especially seeing those cotton-candy like clouds. I loved cloud watching without any distractions (no trees, no anything to block my view) that when I am not snorkeling, I was checking out the clouds until the waves take me to a much shallower part of the beach.

And no, that's not blush on and/or lipstick. I actually didn't have time to fix myself -- I just took a shower and while I was combing my hair my mom called on me because the sun was setting and she knew I loved taking pictures of sunset! My lips aren't that red, but the snorkeling caused my whole face to be under water and the salt water caused this. How I wish my lips are as red as this everyday! =) Does my face qualify for the meme? Hehehehe...

Goodbye Danda!

Just a sad day for me because we just found out that one of our kittens just died. We were already expecting it because she hasn't been eating for a week now and she refused to drink milk from her mom as well. I was just sad because she really was a beautiful kitten and I was hoping to see her grow. Oh well, I guess that's life. I will just miss her company -- she along with her other siblings are my constant sleep mates.

Bad Hair Day

It was really hard to look for a picture that would describe the theme for this week. I think the term "bad hair day" could mean something like having a bad day, or being stressed... but I cannot find a picture just like that, so I go to something obvious -- have a bad hair! =)

When I was in high school and college, when you come in school with crumpled hair -- due to wind from travelling (not all public transportation here have airconditioner), they call it "bad hair day." The phrase got really popular, I remember seeing a shampoo commercial about it.

So here's my picture. I took this one after I took a shower, before I comb my hair. I just wanted to check back then how messy my hair is without looking at the mirror. LOL. I've had so many more "bad hair days," both metaphorically and literally speaking, but sadly, I wasn't able to photograph it. I hope this picture will do.

My New Partner

Happy to announce that I no longer have to waste time worrying how will I pack in pictures into my cell phone's 50MB internal memory! Just last Friday, I went over the photo shop to get the camera we ordered -- a Canon Powershot A580 digital camera.

I was acutally surprised when my mom decided to buy this camera, but more than surprised, I was ecstatic and happy about it. I will be embarking on a trip before the month ends, so I definitely need a camera that can take lots and lots of pictures! I am happy mom personally chose this model because I loved that 8 megapixels and the pre-selcted themes for easy change of themes for different shooting needs.

We bought this camera in Picture City (SM Fairview), and since Canon is having a promo, we got a free 2GB SD memory card, a camera pouch, and a voucher for a free swimwear from Folded and Hung. My sister will be the one getting the swimwear, because she's the only one who can wear the swimwear. Hehehe. Mom paid for the camera, while I bought the batteries.

Us three girls (mom, sis, and I) own the camera. Because brother's digital camera is dysfunctional at the moment and he is based in La Union anyway, we really need a camera we could use for our own little moments. For sure it's going to be me who's the main photographer, but I am sure sister would also be kind enough to take my pictures should the need arise. Sister used the camera first, but the very first shot was taken by me, and I will share the image tomorrow.
