When we went to Fort Santiago last Aug 09, This metal sculpture really caught my attention. It was good, and wonderfully done, yes, but I still cannot think what this kind of sculpture is doing in a place like that. For those who don't know, Fort Santiago is where the national hero, Jose P. Rizal was imprisoned before his execution in Luneta more than 100 years ago. The place is rather big, and somewhere is this old abandoned building with these sculptures in front.
I am really impressed at how the sculpture was made, but because it was already abandoned, I wasn't able to see any information about it. How I wish I knew who created this and what's the message behind it. If somebody knows information about the sculpture, just feel free to inform me. Thanks!

I have heard things about the Corpse Lily being the biggest flower and how bad it smelled, but when I finally saw it in person, I realized how true all the news and testimonies were. This one looks different from the other kinds I have seen on TV, but the shop owner did say it was a corpse lily. It's not that smelly compared to durian (the fruit) that you can smell from meters away. I was actually doing my macro shooting that day and got to stand next to this flower, and at first I didn't smell anything, but if you stay a bit longer, it's smell would really crawl on your nose. It really smelt like its name! Sorry if you're just about to eat, or eating , or just finished eating while reading this one.
I think the oddest thing about this one is the fact that somebody sells it! I mean, if you knew how horrible it smells like, and you knew you needed a big chunk of land to plant this, why still sell it? I certainly wouldn't want a flower that big in our little garden! Well, if someone buys it, then that's going to odder than the oddest!

It's Not Really About You, Danda!
I didn't realize there is more to this picture hadn't I browsed all my cat's files to look for a snapshot of kitty Danda to look for a suitable picture I could use as a tribute to her (Kitty Danda died a week after she got colds). When I took this shot, I was really focusing on her, but really, the picture did speak more about the background than the subject.
If you'll look at the left part of the picture, you'll see the oddness of this photo: Kitty Lilith jumping. And if you look to the right, you'll see the reason for the jump: Kitty Pogi (he's too dark it's hard for him to see). The kittens were still okay when this shot was taken, all of them were still giddy giddy, but they all caught cold, and sadly Danda died. Anyway, this picture suddenly became so important to me because of the kittens' antics caught on cam. It was so unexpected and funny at the same time.

I almost forgot today's Monday! Oh man! Hehehehe.. Anyway, here's my photo for this week's Odd Shots. My sister and my brother loves taking pictures of buses (reasons only they know), and when she noticed a bus parking area on our way to the cemetery (it was the interment of our neighbor), she already wanted to take the shot. So, when we were on our way back, she asked if she could borrow my cell phone to take a shot of it. However, because the car we were riding was moving fast, my cell phone cannot freeze the subject and in the end the cell phone captured this. Pretty weird, eh?
Captured using my Sony Ericsson K800i cell phone, set to auto.

First time to join Odd Shots Monday meme! I have been seeing this meme in several blogs, and wanted to join the minute I saw it, but it was just now that I joined the bandwagon because I didn't think I have that much odd shots to submits. I am still a bit worried if I can feed the meme every Monday from here on out, but hopefully I can. This is one interesting meme that I just want to be part of.
For my initial offering...

Brother saw one of the cemetery's staff drive the containers that hold soil (to be used during burials), and maybe because he was so bored and wanted to do something to spark up his day, he asked me to take pictures as he sneaked up and hitched a ride on the trailers. Mom and our aunts wanted to stop brother, but he was out there running and there was just no way to stop him... and me, for taking the shots.
The trailers were a bit far and I didn't want the driver to know I was taking a picture, so I just zoomed the camera to get my shot. After I took the first shot, I signaled "OK!" to my brother, but as soon as he got off the trailer, this happened:
Instead of just sneaking, brother got busted because the trailer got unhooked! All of us were laughing so hard we just couldn't stop! Imagine how you would feel if you were my brother... oh my! But of course, the driver was kind enough to tell that the trailers weren't really that secured so he understood what happened.
Normally, it should be one photo meme, but they allow two photos to show the oddness of the picture. I am not sure if this one is allowed, though, but I hope it's allowed. I need to post these two pictures because these two pictures just go together.
Taken using brother's Canon Poweshot A460 digital camera, set to auto, zoomed 4 times.
Have a great week ahead, thanks for stopping by!

For my initial offering...

This was taken last March, when we visited daddy's grave for his first death anniversary. We went to eat lunch at the cemetery (sort of a picnic), and we all know how dull and boring cemeteries can be, and for it to be lunch time, all of us got nothing to do.
