Simula Pa Lamang (Just the Start)

{First up, a big thank you for the invitation to be this week's guest photographer for Litratong Pinoy.}

Panglao Sunrise

{I first thought of the sunrise for this week, but I have used this theme on several occasions, so for this week, although it's still sunrise that I will use, I will be sharing a different image.}

{I remember when we were still kids and we would take our summer vacation in Pangasinan, I would always see our grandfather leave the house in the wee hours of the morning. Our Aunts said that our father was working in a farm and he has to wake up very early so he could finish his tasks.}

{This picture was taken in Panglao, Bohol. While I was waiting for the sunrise, I saw these men from afar. I am not sure if they were fishermen or tour guides for the island hopping and dolpin watching, but just like my late grandfather, they had to wake up very early to work. The sun rising is just the start of a long day of them.}

Hardin (Garden)

Japanese Garden

Japanese Garden

{This image was taken November of last year. My British friend K went back to the Philippines and invited me to go with him on a holiday for ten days. On our second day, we went to Rizal Park and visited the Japanese Garden.}

Paboritong Litrato (Favorite Photo)

70/365 - MV Doulos

{Ever since I started being interested in photography, I have taken quite a lot of pictures. Most of the images aren't really that great, but no matter how ugly or beautiful the images are, all are important to me.}

{It's hard to think which image is my most favorite, but upon knowing the theme for this week, it wasn't that difficult for me to say that this was my favorite. I took this last 11 March, when my sister and I went to check out MV Doulos, the oldest still sailing passenger ship. I learned that the ship will be de-commisioned next year, so when I found out that it was in the Philippines, we made it a point to check out the ship.}

Salamat, lady Doulos!

{And how dramatic a shot would be if it was taken between day and night? I really love this photo. Thanks for the memories, lady Doulos!}

Breakfast

Sanafe Lodge

This very delicious plate of food was my choice of breakfast when we ate at the Sanafe Lodge in Banaue, Ifugao. Spending the whole night on the road really made our tummy rumble, so this breakfast was down on my tummy in less than 30 minutes! Hahahaha.

I love the coffee they served, I don't know if coffee grows in Banaue, or this one was store bought and just brewed on location, but either way it was delicious. This breakfast cost about 80 pesos all in - really worth it! Actually, the view of the Banaue Rice Terraces while eating the breakfast was worth more than we paid for! =)

Red Cherries

Cherries

Red was the theme for this week's Lasang Pinoy Sundays, and here is my entry, red cherries. I took this picture December 2007 when the family went to the weekend market in Salcedo Village, Makati City. It was our first time to drop by the place, and our first time to visit weekend markets, so the minute we got there, brother and I basically just take pictures that would interest us.

Back then, I still am not into travel blogging, so the pictures I took were more of the stuffs for sale than the location itself. I still don't own a digital camera, so I used my cell phone to take this shot. I wanted to buy some of the cherries, but it was a bit expensive, so I just took a picture of it to take home. =)

Crunchy

Ilocos Chichacorn

When sister came home from her field trip up north, she bought me two bags of Ilocos Chichacorn for me to munch on. I requested her to buy me some taro chips, but the very bad weather hindered her from shopping along the stalls in Calle Crisologo. I don't know where she bought this, maybe a classmate bought it for her, but the thing is, she had given me something. Hahahahaha.

I prefer the "labeled" chichacorn because it's a lot more delicious and easier to munch, compared to the ones with practically no label, which are very hard and not so delicious. My favorite flavor is the sweet one, but sister bought me the normal flavored one -- which is garlic. This one's a bit salty -- I had to rub my fingers in the kernels to take off excess salt and MSG, but it was delicious, just the way I wanted it to. I just have problems in eating this food because it's so addicting, and I wouldn't realize I've eaten a whole lot already!

This food came in at a good time, and I was happy brother didn't give this pack to our neighbor, because if he did, I wouldn't have another entry for this week. Thank goodness for chichacorn!

Birthdays!

I have two pictures for this week's theme, because when I celebrated my 28th birthday last May, I had two celebrations, but it wasn't really that festive as I only celebrated my birthday with my mom and sister.

Pizza Hut

This picture was my "long life" food when we went to eat lunch at Pizza Hut. It's spaghetti bolognese with meatballs, and as sophisticated as it looked, I wasn't a big fan of this, there's something in the meatballs that I didn't really like - maybe the herbs or something.

Birthday Part Two

Since our next door neighbors gave me presents, mom and I thought it would be good if we cook some food and gave them some, hence the second celebration. Mom cooked the spaghetti, while I made the spring rolls. The petite cake was something I bought at the bakery in SM Supermarket (It only cost 35 pesos) - I just wanted to have a birthday cake and a candle to blow. Actually, the candle I used was borrowed from our neighbor as I wasn't able to buy a candle, and I surely didn't want to blow that big sperma candle!

Both pictures were taken using Canon Powershot A580 digital camera. Thanks for dropping by!
