My sister and I went to pick up a gift that was sent to me by one of my blogging friends (thanks, Ms. JoyD!) when we stopped by the EDSA Shrine in Ortigas. Checking out shrines and churches has been one of my photography passions, and since I am already in the area, why not visit this shrine as well?
It's a very interestingly different shrine, and what got me interested the most was this image of the crucified Jesus. Of all the crucified images I have seen, this was the only scarred I have seen. I know it's just an image - a representation, yet seeing the scars kinda hit me. Makes me realize all the things Jesus has went through to save mankind.

Yeah... a little gruesome. Then again, crucifixion is a pretty gruesome was to die.
ahh, glad it is mono... not color! Good subject.
Graphic, but a great mono.
That is a more realistic depiction of crucifixion that is usually shown in sculpture. Works well in mono.
Don't be scare..he pray for you.
I agree with Carver.
Not one of my favourite images.
Very intense, I've never seen so much scares on a Jesus'sculpture either. Veru dreadful and a little bit excessive. Good shot to share.
Your words drew me to the scarring and yes it is such a powerful image.
Ditto to all the above
I love taking pictures in church too. It is an interesting shot.
