Poinsettia

Poinsettia

This plant originated in Mexico, and is all the rage here in the Philippines during Christmas season. I am sure anyone will just be amazed at how the leaves of the plant turn red during this time of the year, and it makes a perfect decoration during the Holidays. There are now different varieties of the plant - some have white leaves, others have pink.. but of course the red is a definite favorite.

This picture was taken (again) on Market One, at the Lung Center of the Philippines.

Your photos come out better than the ones I take with a similar or an equivalent poinr and shoot camera (Canon Power Shot SD800IS) -you must have a photographer's eyes and a skill level to match. Keep shooting and keep sharing your pics with us.

Very lovely shades of ruby! I like all the new colors of pointsettias---the blues, purples....and they even have some with glitter now!

But very poisonous with cats....so be careful!

beautiful, I like the other colors too - the pink and green

Beautiful shot. Alas, they don't mix well with cats because the leaves are poisonous. But they sure are pretty.
