U = Urbiztondo

San Juan Surf Site

San Juan Surf Site

The town of San Juan in the province of La Union is lined with a great beach line, but if you wanted to go surfing, you really should check Brgy. Urbiztondo because it is where the tides are much generous. The waves aren't as big and strong as the other surfing sites, perfect for people who are just learning to surf. Known as the surfing capital of the north, this place has been the training ground for surfers who are now winners for other surfing competitions. An annual surfing festival known as "Surf Break" is held every last weekend of October.

These set of pictures were taken May this year, when my brother and I went over for a sunset shoot.

Wow, we have snow (and lots of it) right now. Nice to see a beach for a change.

I just checked the temperature here in Nebraska. A frigid 15F and tomorrow is supposed to be much warmer with a high of 36F. Needless to say, seeing a sunny warm beach is a welcome diversion. Thanks for sharing.

You are so fortunate to have that beach in December.
Here in Canada, you wouldn't want to attempt to get near the water unless you were a polar bear.

Lovely beach Jenn! Here the beach will be cold and windy at the moment for it's winter. In summer the beaches are very popular with both Dutch and foreign people.

I thought those waves were a bit litle! Good for learners, yes.
