Yesterday, I played with the camera and just shoot and shoot pictures of myself. The thing of it is, I really cannot make faces and poses other than smile in the camera. So, coming home from the church, I just relaxed a little and just shutter away. Most pictures were deleted, but a few ones, including this (obviously) was spared. I just converted a colored picture into gray scale. Not a good portrait, but I think it's fine. I guess from time to time I need to post pictures of myself, too.
If it's not much to ask, please pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Rianne, the younger sister of my friend Dee-Jay. She has been in a coma since Thursday due to a major asthma attack, and she died just as this day arrived. I still haven't talked to Dee-Jay yet (I just read his message through Friendster), but please, if you have some time, please say a little prayer for Rianne. May you rest in peace, manang Rianne. She was 29 years old.

That is a shot to be proud of and, although I keep saying it, has a quality the colour image would lack.
Sorry for your friends loss. Very young, very sad.
Outstanding portrait, and such a poignant post.
That's a great self portrait. So well done.
You friends sister will be in my thoughts and prayers.
lovely portrait!
sorry about your friend's sister ...
Sorry to hear about your friend. I really never know what to say at times like this... all the "better-place-no-longer-suffering" type comments seem pretty hollow to the grieving.
But I really like your self-portrait. And as other before me pointed out already, it would lose something in color. B&W fits the pose and the mood of the shot much better.
That is a really great natural shot. I might try your technique.
Sorry about your friend. May she rest in peace.
