Templates!

I love Blogspot as much as I love WordPress, but one thing I didn't like much about Blogspot is that there's a few templates to select from, and some of the very cool ones doesn't really match the look of my blog. I am not that picky, but of course, this is considered as my "home" as well, so it has to feel and look good - at least for me.

I loved the template I am currently using, but one thing I complain about it is that the link to the newest post can't be clicked. Sometimes I had to wait for about an hour before the link would appear on the side panel (via Recent Posts). I wanted to change the template, but I probably have checked quite a lot of websites with free templates, and I cannot seem to find the one I am looking for.

I am always tempted to contact those artists who create custom templates, but I always prevent myself because truth be told, I don't have some money for that, and I wouldn't have it for long anyway, so spending some for custom templates won't be a practical idea. But of course, if it's very affordable, I would grab it.

Sigh.

Just a little nonsense post, I just want to rant. =) I guess the bed weather just brings me down. May we all have a great week ahead. Take care!

Sunflower.... and a Bug?

First time to join Today's Flowers, and for my first entry, I am sharing a picture of one of the flowers that gives joy to me whenever I see it, the sunflower.

Like most of the flower pictures I have shared in this blog, this one was taken off the weekend market in Lung Center of the Philippines. I saw this flower towards the end of the flowers section, and at first I didn't know how to take a picture of the whole sunflower, but thanks to this little green bug in the middle of the flower, I was able to take a rather good shot of the flower. It might not be the whole flower, but I think I was still able to get the essence of the sunflower.

I love taking macro pictures of different flowers, and this early I want to apologize if I will be posting photos of nameless flowers. The thing is, although I love flowers, most of them I really don't know the names! So if I post several nameless flowers, please do help me in naming them. Thanks for dropping by my site!

Breakfast

This very delicious plate of food was my choice of breakfast when we ate at the Sanafe Lodge in Banaue, Ifugao. Spending the whole night on the road really made our tummy rumble, so this breakfast was down on my tummy in less than 30 minutes! Hahahaha.

I love the coffee they served, I don't know if coffee grows in Banaue, or this one was store bought and just brewed on location, but either way it was delicious. This breakfast cost about 80 pesos all in - really worth it! Actually, the view of the Banaue Rice Terraces while eating the breakfast was worth more than we paid for! =)

Butterfly

This butterfly was shot 06 March 2008 in Baluarte - a place where the former Governor of Ilocos Sur (Chavit Singson) gathered all the animals in his collection to showcase to the public. Somewhere there is the Butterfly Farm, and the moment we went there, this type of butterfly was the most abundant in the area.

The butterflies are a bit aloof, I wasn't even able to touch one and they fly when people comes near, but I was lucky enough to get this close to this cute critter! It doesn't have that much colors and details, but still beautiful nonetheless.

My Pepperoni Pasta

I really love pasta and I have done all sorts of experiment try out different ways to make my spaghetti eating a lot more exciting, and one time, I was craving for some spaghetti, but the only "meat" we had was the pepperoni, and because mom and I were about to leave for our 4 days vacation in her hometown, we didn't do any grocery shopping - hence no spaghetti sauce as well.

Using just the pepperoni and chopped up tomatoes and some milk, I came up with this. Sister said it tasted good and she wanted to taste it again. Yesterday, I came up with another pasta sauce with pepperoni slices, but is in a way different from this one. I will share it next week, for now, I think this experimental spaghetti dish will do. How did I cook it? I just sauteed the usual garlic, onions, and chopped tomatoes (I forgot to peel it. Hehehe) , added the pepperoni and the milk and waited until it curdled a bit. I am not good in giving out directions, maybe with the other sauce, I'd do a more elaborate explanation.
